License checklist for a new host
Three steps, then photos. (1) Arizona transaction privilege tax license. The city asks for the TPT number on the city application. Apply at AZTaxes.gov. The Department of Revenue describes online-lodging advertising rules on its online lodging marketplace page. (2) A City of Scottsdale license for each property rented for less than 30 days. The city says owners who rent for 30 days or longer do not need a city license through this process, and it lists the annual fee as $250 per property. Source: Information for Owners and Operators. (3) Photo-ready house. Furnish it, then use the getting ready checklist. If the home has a pool, hot tub or spa, the city's pool barrier page is the source for what has to be in place. The city page also covers neighbor notice, insurance and county registration. A longer write-up of those steps is on the Scottsdale STR license checklist.
